This has been one heck of a weekend. We puppy-sat for my in-laws, and let me tell you that dog is 100% energy. 6 month old Australian Shepard puppy, and he just could not get enough time outside. I couldn't work on my thank you cards for fear of him tearing them up (he tore a nice hole in my leather purse the in-laws bought me from Germany...) and getting home yesterday, we just crashed on the couch and watched SciFi (I will not call it SyFy, that is stupid) running the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. They could make a whole short film on Geoffrey Rush/Capt. Barbossa looking put upon and I'd watch it. His not-so-subtle facial expressions really make the movies. The nice thing was that it really reminded me of watching the original Star Wars trilogy with my parents when it would come on TV. It's a good memory. I don't remember the movies at all, but whenever it came on, we'd sit down and watch it together.
As far as my 101/1001, I completed #59, Go a day without tv, on the 1st, but I didn't think about it until later. I had thought about using the TV, but didn't. I think I might expand it a little more, like 5 days or something. It's a lot easier for me to go without TV than internet. I almost went without internet, but my husband and I ended up using Skype to chat with my "little sister" at the end of the night. Poo! Let's see...I unintentionally started #11 while walking the puppy. We walked around his neighborhood to two different cul-de-sacs, and took a hike down a walking trail through the area, too. So there's 3 different places. We'll have to take a walk through our own neighborhood sometime this month. I might make it 5 places just to stretch it a bit. I also read two books - Masquerade and Sourcery, both by Terry Pratchett and starting #32.
On a related note, watching Pirates of the Caribbean after reading a Rincewind book will make you contantly see Jack Sparrow as a more suave and drunk Rincewind. And that makes it even better.
