I am, without a doubt, addicted to the internet. Unless I'm traveling, I can't stand not being able to check my email, read my webcomics, read my forums, and play my online games. I go out of my way to be sure I spend time with Hubby and not spend it all on the computer, but honestly, it's hard. So on Friday, I decided "This Sunday, I'm going to complete #58." And I knew the only way I could go a whole day without using the internet willingly was if Hubby couldn't either. Otherwise, I'd want to read the forums over his shoulder, or he'd want to show me a Youtube video. First thing Sunday morning, I turned off the power strip for my computer and the wireless modem. We were going to go an entire day without the internet.
Thankful for small blessings, on Saturday, we got a surprise visit from Hubby's former roommate and best friend from VA. He came to spend New Years with us, so we weren't expecting another visit so soon. He stayed through today and brought a late Christmas gift for Lee of a multiplayer game from one of our favorite series: Samurai Warriors 3 for the Wii. We pretty much spent all weekend playing that and cracking jokes at the game's expense. Despite all that, though, Sunday was so hard. I kept wanting to go mess around on the internet while Hubby was outside with M while M had a cigarette, or while they were surfing TV for something to watch in between gameplaying. Despite the strong temptation, I never even turned on my computer.
Sunday morning, we broke in the waffle iron we received from my cousin for a wedding gift. Not much else to say - they were waffles. Who doesn't like waffles?
