New Year's Resolutions

It's the end of the year now. I figured I should look over my list and figure out which ones I should do over the next year. I need to complete 36 tasks over the year to be on schedule.

Travel - I think I'm going to work on getting at least 6 of these done - #1, 9, 10, and 12-18 are all relatively easy. The rest will involve more saving and planning. We'll see what those look like while we're going over finances. Those are the ones I'm worried most about completing. I need to figure out how best to fit a trip out west into my schedule after we get a house.

Cooking - #25-27 are looking good, while 28 is a definite. I might work on that in January.

Hobbies - I want to try and get #29 done as well as 35 and 37. I have an idea for a costume that shouldn't be too hard to do, but will end up being unique and fun (Mario ? Block with accompanying item masks)

Around the house - #41 is the big one. I'd love to be able to have a house before winter. If we can get that, then 43 and 44 will be planned. Otherwise, those will have to be 2012. #45, obviously, has to be done by June. I want to do 47 in the spring. I can't believe I've actually kept my existing plants alive as long as I already have. We'll shoot for 55 as well.

Self-Improvement - #56 and 58 are up for grabs, and I need to do more on 62. Need to go over the rest of my pictures and see if I've gotten any I can apply towards the last few #70 pictures - I think I've got K and Y, but the U is eluding me. I'll see about getting Hubby to teach me 72 this year as well. Will look into a class for 74 as well.

Donation - Another year of growing my hair and I should be able to do #78. I'll talk to my coworker about planning #80 for her daughter for her 4th birthday in March. #86 definitely needs to be done. I need to change/get rid of #90. As much as I'd like to try it, I read a little while ago that you can be arrested potentially for giving out hugs in public. Sucky, right? I'll figure out another donation thing to replace it with. Sorry, people needing hugs, but I don't want to be arrested for hugging.

Anti-Procrastination - Most of these are long term, but I ought to do #93. I'm gonna see if there's anywhere to get #98 done, and I'll definitely do #99.

Of course, I'll keep working on the long-term ones and see about adding more to the counting-up ones.

  1. I met one of my friends on International Hugs Day, when he held a Free Hugs sign in the middle of our campus. He does it every year. He told me later that of the hundreds of strangers he hugged that day, I was the only one who introduced myself. Two years later, he was a reader at my wedding. :)

I'm definitely going to do a version of this post on my blog ... you're so organized! I need to figure out which goals are plausible for me to accomplish this year.

Just a question, does your husband know about your 101/1001 list, and your blog and everything? I'm wondering how to tell mine ... :)

  2. I love your story about the Campus Hugger :) I love IHD, but I'd need to find a place that would be okay with it, and not being a college student anymore, that could cause some issues...

Yeah, Hubby knows about my 101/1001 list, although I can't recall if he knows about the blog. I pretty much started with "So I found this thing that I think I'm going to try..." and showed him my list to make sure everything that involved him would be okay to him.
