#73 completed

I noticed on my last paycheck, which started my pay period for my second year with my company, that money was being put into a retirement fund. It wasn't from my paycheck, just a little extra going into a retirement fund. Interesting, I thought, I knew after a year I could start to put money aside before taxes, but I didn't know they'd automatically start paying into a fund for me without my doing anything. Yesterday I got all the paperwork explaining what that money was and where it was going. So I now officially have a retirement fund, completing #73! I'm planning on going in and putting aside some of my paycheck into it later, but the account is made and money is going into it. That's what matters.

Watched Independence Day on AMC this weekend for my I movie. Yes, I have never seen Independence Day. I wanted to when it came out, but never did. I saw the last half-hour or so before, but like Dogma, never saw the whole thing. I giggled when I realized Harvey Fierstein was in it. I saw Hairspray on Broadway in high school just after he had won a Tony for his role of Edna Turnblat, the main character's mother. Travolta has nothing on him for that role. I didn't know Fierstein did movie acting too. Don't know why they cast Travolta for the movie role instead of him...
