M and B visited again this weekend. We took them both with us to try out a pizza place near my office with excellent food, the Devil's Pizzaria. They were just voted the #1 sub shop in the area in a local competition and were offering lots of sales in celebration. I got a slice of cheeseburger pizza (ground beef, bacon, onions, tomatoes, pickles, and cheese. The pickles were light and gave it a bit of tangy bite and a good crunch) that was the biggest slice I've ever seen. They were also offering a sale on the biggest pizza they had, 24". Two feet diameter of pizza. B insisted on buying a pepperoni for dinner for all of us that night. The box barely fit in the car, and when we got it home, the box extended off the edge of the stove. I've never seen a pizza that big! It was cut into 8 slices, too. Big. Ass. Pizza. Good, though.
On our way back home, I caught sight of something I hadn't seen before - an unfamiliar food truck parking in the local bank's parking lot. They advertised ice cream and had a good group of people outside it. I made a mental note of it. After seeing a good number of food trucks on Food Network, I'd wanted to try one, and an ice cream one seemed like a good start. I figured I should add "eat at a food truck" onto my list as I've also heard the best burgers in the area are from a food truck. So I added it as #103. Today, I remembered the ice cream truck and looked it up while telling a coworker about it. I found them on Facebook, and they had recently updated. "On Wednesday, we're adding a new location! 3:00-4:00 at [Address], we'll probably be there bi-weekly."
'Oh hey, that's our street!' I thought, figuring it was the bank down the road from my office. Then I looked at it again. It had just updated a few minutes before, not a few days. And that wasn't the bank's address. It was ours.
So yeah, during work hours, there's going to be a gourmet ice cream food truck downstairs. I've got an amazing view outside my window, including a decent sized parking lot where I've seen many trucks park to unload or do business. There is a very great likelihood that, come Wednesday, I'm going to have an ice cream truck not just outside my office, but outside my window. My self-control will literally be going out the window. I, however, will be taking the elevator and picking up a scoop of roasted banana coconut ice cream. Should I make #103 buy a meal instead of just anything from a food truck? I wasn't expecting them to make it so easy for me...
In terms of other tasks, I made egg salad this weekend using another recipe of Cat's. Delish, and dish #16 out of 25! I'm working through this one a lot faster than I thought I would. Same with the books, I'm working on The Folklore of Discworld on my Kindle, and I've got Jennifer Government and the three Hunger Games books (was convinced on TN to give them a try) to follow it up, bring me to 28 books when all these are done (29 will be A Dance With Dragons, yay more Song of Ice and Fire!)
