Events Eventuating

It's been an eventful week thus far in my world.
1) I did not watch the royal wedding on Friday. This is solely because I didn't realize the time it was at. I turned on the Youtube channel when I got into the office and was sad to see they were already recapping it. I saw pictures, though, and it looked truly beautiful.
2) Of course, the big whammy, Bin Laden's dead. M and B visited this weekend and we finished up our game early on Sunday night. We were channel surfing and caught an announcement that the president would be making a speech at 10:30PM. Of course, we had to hang around after that. We stayed on MSNBC and surfed around to the other news channels occasionally while Hubby checked online speculation. It's 10:30 at night and this has interrupted all other channels that air news - it HAD to be big. We watched it go from speculation to confirmation, and finally, at 11:30, Obama came out and confirmed it. I'm not one to celebrate anyone's death, you won't find me dancing in the streets, but I feel that our country finally has closure almost a decade after. We finally got the justice we'd almost forgotten we were seeking. I know this isn't the end, the book isn't closing. The story's not over, life will continue, but that chapter, at least, is done.

So the common girl married her prince, and the bad guy met his end. Sounds like something right out of Disney. I wonder how long before we see a movie based on either of these events.

More personally, I've had both my boss and my oldest friend announce that they're expanding their families. My boss is expecting a little girl in a few months (woman can keep a secret!) and my friend just found out that the food poisoning she's been feeling is the kind of sickness you get with the word "Mommy". I'm so thrilled for both of them :) As long as we're not being bugged for kids anytime soon. I'll take my time thank you very much.

I've been keeping up with cleaning the house, mainly because there's something going on every weekend, so we HAVE to keep it straight. You know, when I started this one, I thought I was going to be home with no plans for all but one or two weeks of the cleaning. It ended up being with plans every weekend all through April through to halfway through May. Finally, FINALLY, I think we're free for a few weeks after the 15th, Julia's baptism. Who needs a vacation? I just want to have our home to ourselves for ANY period of time. This weekend, Mother's Day, and both my mom and my mom-in-law will be coming to stay.
