So, last night, I took the plunge, broke out my previously unused Kitchenaid mixer, and made my first dessert from scratch. I used the recipe from
Baked Perfection that a friend linked me to (seriously, check this blog out, so much amazing food-stuff) to make S'mores cookies. It was really intimidating, honestly. I'm still so worried about messing up, and I keep making minor mistakes when shopping (I bought the wrong size chocolate chips for this one, and for the no-bakes, I got the wrong kind of oatmeal...). I'm good about following a recipe, but not so much for double-checking the ingredients in the cart versus the list. You know, I had the same problem when I would write down directions to a place...hm...
Anyway! The cookies turned out really good (although I can't speak for the size of them, the recipe says it'll make 4 dozen, and I made 4 dozen...30 tiny ones and 18 regular sized ones...) and I'm looking forward to making more stuff again
Pictures!

Is...this how the dough is supposed to look? I think this is how it should look...

Lookie lookie, I made a cookie! Well, a lot of cookies.... My diet hates me right now...
In any case, that's #27 done, my 25th completed task, and the halfway point of the cooking from recipes outside of a cookbook task! Biting into the first one last night felt goooood.
