One month from what would be tomorrow if this either were a normal month or a leap year, I'll be exactly 2 years from finishing my Day Zero list. It's hard to believe I've been doing it as long as I have and sticking with it. I know it ultimately hasn't been that long, but it's been better than I thought it would be. It's been an interesting trip thus far. I don't know if I'm going to be able to do all of them, particularly the big cross-country trip, but if I can't, I'll come up with other things so I get at least 101 tasks accomplished.
So for March, I've got a few things planned.
28) I have almost everything I need for my cookbook compilation. I designed a nice-looking page layout the other day, but when I went to print it, the colors were crummy and the "green" was coming out light yellow. I don't know if my printer's running out of ink or just incapable of printing greens. Whatever the case, I either need to recolor the page to a printable shade or figure out how to make the printer make green.
47) Sadly, my strawberry plant did not survive the winter. The roots stopped taking in water at some point, and it got covered in some kind of bug and a spider. It's sad considering how well it did over the summer, but it just couldn't make it indoors. The upside is that I have a pot waiting for new herbs. As soon as I can take the plants back outside (when the cold seems to have passed), I'll replace it and possibly pick out a new one. As for the other plants, the basil barely survived but is coming back, the mint is still looking good, and the catnip is thriving despite the cat eating it when my back is turned.
70) I'm two pictures away from finishing my A-Z photographs. I just can't think of what to take for Y and K. I think I can get K in April at the "baby shower" for my SIL (whose name starts with a K) and Julia. The Y is eluding me. Any suggestions?
80) Little M is turning 4! She's going to have a slumber party with a few friends, and I've gotten the approval from her mom to set up a scavenger hunt for her! It's going to be somewhat themed on the idea that a character from her favorite TV show (Dora the Explorer) took her birthday gifts and hid them all around the house. We'll hide a different gift in each spot with a simple clue to where the next one is. I used to love these when I was a little girl, so I'm glad to be able to do it for someone else. It's gonna be tons of fun!
If I can get three of these done this month, I'll have 25 completed, leaving 76. To complete over 2 years. I think I can get 38 tasks per year...
I need to change #77. I never donated this past Christmas solely because I couldn't afford to. There's too much driving, too much visiting, and too much gifting from Dec-February (Christmas, Mom's birthday, Hubby's birthday, and Hubby's brother's, brother's wife's and daughter's birthdays) to leave much spare change. So, instead of donating at Christmas, when I'm likely to end up broke, I'm going to change it to donating to mark the years counted down for this project, at the end of March. This way, I'll end up making the same number of donations I would donating each Christmas, but at a time where we can afford to give what the charities deserve versus only what we can afford to avoid going into the red.
