#40 done

Okay, so after that introspective on my hobbies and "can I consider blogging a hobby" questioning, I actually found another hobby. For our wedding shower, my mother-in-law bought Hubby and me a new camera. My old one was just a point-and-click with slight video capabilities (and no sound). No other settings, and at its age, I was rarely using it because of the overall quality of the photos. This new one is hot stuff - a real professional camera with all sorts of bells and whistles, including video that DOES record sound. Recently, along with bringing it on all our trips and making sure it never leaves my side, I've found myself running up to my apartment when I don't have it and see something I want to photograph. Yesterday, I dragged Hubby out to by a large tree in the field behind out apartment because I thought I saw a flower I wanted to photograph (I did!) He commented that maybe we should send me to photography classes. I disagreed, saying "Nah, it's just a hobby."

Long story short, I've taken more pictures since I got this camera than I think I ever did with my old one, and I'm specifically looking for pictures to take. I used to see potential pictures, but never did anything with it. Now, I'm taking them, and I've submitted pictures to photography contests (See #39.) I think it's safe to say that I've got my new hobby.

Also, yesterday was the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Unbeknownst to this, I finished Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, marking game completion #2, and the first game that I hadn't played in a while that I DIDN'T just restart.
