So it's been 2 months now since I started this little list, and my totals are 10 tasks completed and 17 started. I think I'm doing well so far.
For September, I'm going to be giving up soda to complete #69. I'll be drinking a lot of water and tea, I guess. It won't be a problem for dining out; I always get tea when we go out. It's when we're at home and eating that I'll have soda. The hard part will be resisting taking a sip of my husband's, because he loves his Coke.
Last night, I started #25: Find a favorite meal and perfect how to cook it and #31: The A-Z Movie challenge. I'm going to be perfecting my husband's favorite meal:
Current form:
Meatloaf - from scratch
Mac & Cheese - boxed
Salad - bagged
Brownies - boxed
Each dish last night (we didn't have salad, though) I added something extra to, just to start trying new things. The meatloaf had extra spices added and was topped with BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. The mac & cheese had italian breadcrumbs added. I put peanut butter in the brownie mix. In order to "perfect" this meal, I'm going to eventually make it all by scratch, no boxes or bags, with my special twists to find the best meal for us.
We also finished up a movie we'd started last month but hadn't gotten around to finishing. Starting the Alphabet Movies, R is for Red Cliff - part 1. We'll get part 2 from Netflix in a day or two. It's split into two DVDs because of the length with "To Be Continued..." so I'm counting it as one movie. It's a chinese film focusing on a naval battle from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms novels and is also protrayed in the Dynasty Warriors video game series. Hubby and I love the games, and he's read the books. It feels like the movie took some inspiration from the games based on the characters' looks and combat abilities. Can't wait to see the second half.
