Well, I said I was going to do spring cleaning this weekend, and Saturday, I kept to it. I spent the entire day running loads of laundry, scrubbing and sweeping the bathrooms, and dusting. I finished 1) our bedroom, 2) bedroom closet, 3) master bathroom, 4) guest bathroom, 5) the linen closet, and 6) the laundry room. That left the kitchen, dining room, living room, and office for Sunday. Until I woke up Sunday hurting in places I didn't know I could hurt. I think I pushed myself just a bit too hard. Whoops. On the plus side, our linen closet is organized, bathroom nice and sparkly, we can walk into the bedroom closet, and the guest bathroom is actually usable (it's my cat's "bedroom" and is usually covered in litter and catfood.) Plus, I found some clothes I forgot I even had! Yay extra work pants! They'd gotten mixed in with Hubby's clothes during and got shoved in with the rest of his clothing. I also took the time to go through my clothes, get rid of holey things and fill a bag with ones I don't wear anymore. TIme to go shopping...once we have time!
So I didn't get to the rest of the rooms. I'll be doing those probably Tuesday and Thursday. Friday's dedicated to food prep for the baby shower. Everything that can be made the day before I'm going to get done, as well as everything that can be prepared early for baking the next day. Probably going to get the ingredients I'll need for them tonight. This'll be an interesting week.
On a more fun note, my birthday weekend got a lot more interesting. We were just going to visit my mother. However, plans my mother and her boyfriend (W) had for this past weekend were postponed until....my birthday weekend. So, rather than cancel either of our plans, we're combining them. What does that mean for Hubby and me? It means that instead of going and visiting like a normal trip, we're going to a small town in the mountains, staying at a historic bed & breakfast and going stargazing! Apparently a scientist who worked on the Hubble telescope hosts a seasonal startgazing event there, and W is an astronomy/physics professor. Fingers crossed for good weather!
Sounds like an excellent plan for your birthday - how romantic!
