Sorry for not updating last week, I just wasn't in any kind of blogging mood.
#9 was completed last weekend at our friend's wedding. We stayed at a hotel on Nag's Head, and the wedding was at the aquarium by the airport in Manteo. Twice I dragged Hubby out to the beach to collect shells for a small project I want to do, and oh man did I regret it the next day. I was sooo sore from all the walking in soft sand we did. The ceremony was beautiful, with the ocean and sunset as a backdrop. L looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress, and I'm glad we were able to be there for their special day. A lot of us are thinking we might want to change our annual trip (that Hubby and I haven't been able to make since I was a freshman) from Myrtle Beach to Nags Head because it was such a nice weekend overall, much lower key than Myrtle.
Fingers crossed on #41. If all goes well, we'll be homeowners on Friday. /knock on wood/
Getting closer and closer to being done with #32. I've continued my Sci-Fi kick with 2010: Odyssey Two and 2061: Odyssey Three by Arthur C. Clarke and Nemesis by Isaac Asimov, bringing me to 46 books read. I'm almost done with my 47th, The Android's Dream by John Scalzi. It's funny, I was expecting to love Nemesis but find Android's Dream hard to read, and it's been quite the opposite. Nemesis took me until about halfway through to aactually start liking it, and I finished 330 pages of Android's Dream yesterday. Highly recommend it if you like sci-fi!
Knock on wood!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Nemesis is one of the weirder ones, and one of my least favorites, although I still like it. The Gods Themselves is good though, although at times it's a bit unusual. Also read Nightfall and The Ugly Little Boy, which Asimov co-wrote with Robert Silverberg.
Oh yes, I have a lot more of these up my sleeve. :-D
