#53 - Done

I'm a sentimental person. I'm one of those who saves almost everything because I can if it has any form of sentimental value to it. Because of this, I had a ton of dried roses. Every rose my husband ever gave me was dried. Some just had the flower, others left the stem attached. Three weeks ago, I took them and my dried wedding bouquet to Michaels to be framed in a shadow box. After talking it over with the woman at the counter, we determined a few things

1) The bouquet was just too thick and full of loose bits for them to frame. It would fill the bottom of the box with detritus and just would not end up looking good.

2) The roses without the stems would have to be attached by a petal, and that wasn't guaranteed to hold the weight of it without falling apart.

So that left the long-stemmed roses to be worked with. And yesterday, we went buy to pick them up. They're gorgeous, in a black box with light green background, and tied with a magenta bow. I was so worried that over the three weeks thy had them, the roses would get damaged or it would turn out poorly. But they did turn out, and they're beautiful. I can't wait to get them hung up on the wall. I've still got the bouquet and the stemless roses, but those will have to be figured out at another time. The bouquet might be too fragile to keep, but the roses are the few that are most important to me (the first one Hubby ever gave me, and one from a bouquet I caught at our friends' wedding. I'm going to do something with them. I just don't know what.
